Students in German 3 and 4 earn Honors weight and examine the cultures and traditions of the German-speaking world in more detail, and are expected to be on a college preparatory tract. Students are introduced to historical, traditional, and folkloric aspects of the German-speaking culture via authentic materials that provide samples of native language and cultural background within contextual communicative situations.
German 3 and 4 will continue developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Vocabulary and structures will be introduced and practiced through stories, short novels and readers. Post war German history will be covered in film units supported by authentic materials.
