May 4, 2020
Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,
Today, Governor Murphy announced that schools will be closed for the remainder of the year and that remote learning will continue. While this decision was inevitable, we were all hopeful we could close the year by being together for even a short period of time.
In the coming weeks, we will be sharing more information with you regarding the end of the 2019-2020 school year. Our hearts are with our seniors who have missed their spring sports seasons, concerts and participation in the many celebrations that come with high school graduation. We are doing our best to create positive, interesting and elegant virtual ceremonies for both senior awards and commencement. We will do our best to be sure seniors have a memorable and positive experience as their high school years draw to a close.
Please be reminded we have a limited supply of chromebooks available to students to assist with remote learning. If you are in need of assistance, please complete this form: Chromebook needs.
Meal distribution continues at each school on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. You can pick up breakfast and lunch for all school aged children in your household at any of our high schools, regardless of which school you attend.
In closing, I would like to share an original poster from Folsom Pre-K teacher Ms. Amanda Cirillo. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Ms. Cirillo's poster, about parents and teachers working together, is especially fitting.
Our teachers have worked hard to deliver the best remote learning experience possible to our students. We have dedicated ourselves to overcome challenges with creative and innovative methods to engage our students during these very difficult times. Please join me in celebrating our teachers...a thank you goes a long way in showing our teachers how much we respect and admire their efforts.
Thank you. We will be writing to you more in the coming weeks.
