Mr. Rod James
Hello! I have been teaching in the special education field for the past 20 years. This will be my 16th year in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional HS District. For the past 7 years, I have been teaching in the Self Contained MD classroom known as REACH Program in our district. This program has become my passion. The program has taken on a new direction with life/job skills being a main component for our students. The program has started a "coffee cart" that involves all students. Through this program our students learn and advance their social and money skills. By the end of senior year, students should have learned the job and life skills to continue in our off campus program at Stockton University and Seaview Marriot. I am always trying to incorporate new life and job skills into our program. The students love interacting with their peers, administrators and teachers on a daily basis. I believe this program has been an undeniable success and look forward to watching it grow in the next few years!
Welcome to my webpage for the 2019-2020 school year! My name is Rod James and I have been teaching special education self contained classes for the past 20 years. I have been working in the district since the 2004-2005 school year. I graduated from Rowan University in 1993 with a degree in History/Secondary Education. I received my Emergency Certification in special education in 2000. I have been teaching in the Self Contained Mutible Disabilities class (REACH) for the past 7 years. I love coming to work today and enjoy interacting with my students on a professional and personal level. Building relationships with my students every year is one of the best parts of my job.
